I’ve been reading Marion Nestle’s articles recently. Ms Nestle a professor in the nutrition, food studies and public health department at New York University, writes a monthly column in the San Francisco Chronicle, and was cited often in Michael Pollan’s book In Defense of Food: An Eater’s Manifesto.  I urge you to check her out; she is up on the most recent food-related discussions.
