God love her! They're so much fun to eat. When steaming, make sure you have enough water in the pot so it doesn't boil dry for the duration. And, hey, why not make one for each of you? She begs for artichoke heart - it used to be my mom and I split it... now that she loves them I just give her my half. "The things we mothers do!" :) We have always dipped ours in mayo. Not sure if that is common or not - I know we were even doing it when we lived in CA in the 60's... maybe it was a California thing. I love them warm or cold... but we have ALWAYS boiled them.
