You're amazing, Jane, and off to a good start with fresh produce (lucky you), making your own pasta AND grinding whole grains. Impressive, indeed. I hope this site can be helpful to your goal of eating better, although it is geared to the novice cook who may be a little insecure in the kitchen. I don't have any preparations for turning out the pasta itself - being wheat-intolerant pasta has never been a big part of my eating life, it was just easier to avoid it altogether until grains like quinoa and spelt began to surface - but I do have lots of ideas about what gets tossed in with it. Of course you're in winter now, but bravo for making salads a part of your overall plan.

As for your opening quote - I am fond of saying, where cooking is concerned - it's ALL practice!

I am trying or is that striving...since Yoda said there is no try there is only do.
To improve what I eat.
Here in Australia we have remarkable fruit & vegetables, and other products.
I live near farmers markets, and I have learnt to make my own pasta.
I also Bought some good quality hard wheat and a grain grinder.
Just need this flu to go away so I have the energy to really get going,
I made a nice healthy tuna salad last night.
I'm off to look for more posts to support my plan...
see you soon
