INGREDIENTS
1 banana
1/2 chocolate bar
1 TBSP sliced almonds
PREPARATION
Put squares of chocolate in a small ovenproof glass dish (not plastic), along with a large mug of water, in microwave oven for approx 2-4 minutes. You’re not doing anything with the mug of water except slowing down the process of melting the chocolate so it doesn’t overheat. The chocolate may melt without the squares loosing their shape, so don’t look for a puddle. Or you can use a double boiler. Most double boilers are too large for one or two servings of melted chocolate; however, an egg poacher works well! I don’t advise melting chocolate in a small saucepan on the stove, it is difficult to avoid scorching.
S E R V E
While chocolate is melting, slice banana into 1/4 – 1/3 inch slices into dish. Spoon melted chocolate over sliced bananas; sprinkle with almonds.
