Oil – olive, peanut or sesame
Black pepper, ground
Sea salt

PREPARATION TIME
: 3 min
COOKING TIME: 15 min

  1. Heat oil.
  2. Cut & dredge okra.
  3. Pan-fry.

C O O K  /  P R E P A R E

INGREDIENTS
2 TBSP oil – olive, peanut or sesame; or bacon drippings
2 TBSP cornmeal
Grinding of black pepper
Dash sea salt
1/4 – 1/3 okra, trimmed & dry

COOKING

  1. Heat oil in skillet to medium-high.
  2. Cut okra into 1/2″ slices.
  3. Toss cut okra in cornmeal, pepper & salt.
  4. Pan fry on one side until golden brown, turn & fry on other side.
  5. If you’ve used the right amount of oil, you shouldn’t need to drain the cooked okra.

S E R V E

Serve immediately, as a side dish or snack.  Kids will agree that okra is perfect to pop as you’re making the rest of the meal.
